The research group “Hydrometeorological Sensing and Machine Learning” works at the intersection of hydrometeorology and data science, focusing on large remote sensing datasets, novel opportunistic sensors, weather model output and machine learning methods. The main goal is to provide more accurate high-resolution rainfall information to allow for better warning and decision making in particular in regions with scarce traditional observation networks in the Global South.
