One of the greatest challenges of our time is global climate change in combination with urbanisation and the realisation that our fossil resources are limited. An understanding of ecological processes that is as precise as possible is the basis for a sustainable approach to our environment. In the Earth's climate system, interactions on the land surface play a special role, as this is where the various areas of the biosphere, hydrosphere, pedosphere and anthroposphere meet the atmosphere. Against this background we are working on the following research topics:

- Turbulence-resolving modeling of exchange processes in the atmospheric boundary layer
